2PPM - For People

Two People Playing Music, abbreviated 2PPM, released a new EP For People last month.
2PPM had this to say of the release: "Please enjoy and share with your friends! The track listing is in chronological order, based on when we wrote the songs. Some songs were written in FL, some in Asheville, NC, and one was written in NYC. These songs represent the experience from our journey throughout the last year. We have made this album available for free because we want to share our efforts with as many people as possible, after all, it is for people."

Tonight 2PPM are playing at the St Anger House in Tallahassee with Aircraft, USA-Holes, and Isles. Friday, they're playing at the Handlebar in Pensacola with Paloma and Isles. Download For People for free on bandcamp.

Until recently, Eamon was part of the Orlando, Florida scene; last fall he moved to Arizona to study the craft of bulding guitars. While writing and recording for years, and having only played a number of occasions around Florida with a band, Nova Joven is finally spreading its wings and playing more shows.

Tatsuya Nakatani Gong Orchestra

Several weeks ago Tatsuya Nakatani toured though Gainesville and performed at the Church of Holy Colors for an Action Research's 82nd show. I was able to capture the full performance.

Tatsuya Nakatani is a contemporary percussionist, originally from Osaka, Japan. He performs creative music around the world.
He has created a totally unique sound which defies category or genre. He utilizes the drum set, bowed gongs, cymbals, singing bowls
and metal objects.

Nakatani allowed some Church of Holy Colors patrons use his gongs. Below is the audio of their improvisational gong peformance featuring Felici Asteinza, John David Eriksen, Charles Rye, Mark McGee, Zach Randall, and Shara Lunon

Mini Prophets - S/T: 3

Melbourne based Mini Prophets just released a four song EP entitled S/T: 3. Last time I saw them perform, Brian Bo from the band had begun incorporating rhodes through a chain of pedals and vibraphone to the instrumentation. These recording capture that, while leaving out the saxophone which had been a prominent element to Mini Prophets up until now.

If you haven't heard it yet, check out the Sirens, Loops and Whistles tape released by Sunshine Ltd.
