Healthy Animal is an experimental project worth attention , the mind of this kid Ameen from Coral Springs, Florida. I've met him a few times at our shows and he recently he sent me his cassette, self-titled Healthy Animal. The sound is very raw and intense. Overdriven untamed ambient melody, steady rhythm, easy to fall into. With the minimalist nature, it's interesting to hear subtle pans in the mix or timbre changing as things morph or fade. Listed as influences, My Bloody Valentine and Pocahaunted have some presence in these tracks; I sort of hear some of The Microphones too. Accomplishing this at 16 years old, I am excited for what Healthy Animal develops into.
